Hi Alan

Again, sorry for the late reply.  The club is still going, but a much smaller membership than you would remember.  Probably due to the fact that we are a "London" based club with all the traffic difficulties that goes with the terratory.  If you are a Facebooker, we have an active site, with quite a few older members and friends regularly contributing.

I promise to update the pages more regularly but have been busy with work!

All the best

Tony

I too would love to reconnect with my old club. These days I have been in touch with Poole Wheelers near where I now live in Dorset.

Hi Eddie.  Apologies for the lack of replies to your posts.  Thats down to me Im affraid!   Hope you are well.   The club is indeed still going with some names Im sure you will remember....Steve Clinch, Mike Twitchett, Colin Derrick, Les Humphrey and others.   Only about 10 regular racers nowadays.   We recently had our club dinner with about 40 attending, which was nice.   I promise to look our for messages more regularly in future!  All the best Tony.....PS  come and find us on Facebook!

Hi Jack.  Sorry for the long delay in replying to you. Yes of course I remember you :-)   Those were indeed great days back in the 80s with many fast guys!   The club these days still has some familiar faces but many of the older members have hung up their wheels. There are only  20 -30 members nowadays and only about 10 regular racers, but this is indicitive of the times.  Hope you are well and still riding ?  We have a Facebook page if you are interested in following us and lots of other familiar names. Best wishes.  Tony

I notice there are no calendar entries after August 2015. I hope that's not indicative of SERC no longer "in business". I was a club member in the mid 1960s. Everyone was friendly, on and off the bike. Now, fifty years later I still ride: no more racing but I do ride sportives in support of charities here in Dorset. I still have my Campag equipped Youngs bike but now mainly use an up to date BH Cycles road bike.

Hi Guys,

Why is it that nobody in the club replies to my message. It is at least two or three years since I have heard from anyone. Perhaps everyone has passed on to the great cycle pathway in the sky. I would love to hear from someone. Eddie

Good afternoon.

We are adapting part of our livery stables to support the biking community and would appreciate knowing what sort of facilities you would like to see in place.

As long as your requests aren’t too ambitious and are well supported we would hope to have them up and running in the very near future - certainly well before Christmas.

There is no questionnaire as I don’t want to steer your thoughts in any way at all.

We are in the centre of the highest village in the Surrey Hills right opposite “The Plough Inn” (under new management), just below Leith Hill and the start of the “Summer Lightning” cycle route.

Kind regards,

Thom

Hi, Just sending my annual note to the club. For the last two years I have not heard from anyone, have they all passed on? I am still working, almost 73 years old and going strong. My website is Londonman11Group.com. Eddie
